  11.     My program needs to get the following indices:

  13.     1. maximum user memory in the system;
  14.     2. Amount of free swap space.
  15.  
  16.     I know the monitor program provides all this information, but monitor
  17. is something from HP (that means source not available). Could any body
  18. tell me what kernel variables should I read to get these numbers?
