- Vue is very critical of the name service behavior, and wont comme up for even the
- most minor glitch. Since you are running DNS you probably need to check that
- your machine is in the dns database, that /etc/resolv.conf is properly configured
- on your machine, and you may have to change /etc/src.sh to specify your proper
- system name (this is the one I always forget).
-
- Please note tha hps implementation of DNS only uses the remote name server, never
- the /etc/host file!! You are therefore sunk if the name server is down unless
- you also have a secondary name server configured.
-
- I have complained bitterly to HP about this "feature" and they indicate that I am
- not alone in my complaint, and that it has been passed up to development for
- action. If it first checked the host file, then you could define the local
- machien in the host file, and would be independent of the nameserver to support
- firing up HP Vue.
