  18. Have an irritating little problem with my system that I would like to
  19. clear up...

  21. My modem ports become brain-dead when I have failed logins...

  23. You can still dial in on them, but dial-out is inhibited.

  29. The problem can be cleared by rebooting the system.

  31. It appears that the kernel has become confused about the state of
  32. the card.

  36. 1 modem running on the 98644 built-in port, select code 9.
  37. 1 modem running on a 98642 4-port mux, slot 0, select code 10
  38. 1 modem running on a 98642 4-port mux, slot 0, select code 16.

  40. What I am looking for is a way to re-sync and reset the card/os
  41. interface (without crashing the system) so I can clear this problem
  42. without rebooting the system.

  44. I have thought about writing a program to access the card directly
  45. via DMA and reset from there.

  47. Ideas anyone?  Anyone gotta program to do this?
