- System: 9000/385
- OS: hpux 8.0
- Modems: Telebit T2500 (3)
- Extras: Expander Box for mux ports.
-
- Have an irritating little problem with my system that I would like to
- clear up...
-
- My modem ports become brain-dead when I have failed logins...
-
- You can still dial in on them, but dial-out is inhibited.
-
- cu returns the message:
-
- "MDTR was not set"
-
- The problem can be cleared by rebooting the system.
-
- It appears that the kernel has become confused about the state of
- the card.
-
- I have:
-
- 1 modem running on the 98644 built-in port, select code 9.
- 1 modem running on a 98642 4-port mux, slot 0, select code 10
- 1 modem running on a 98642 4-port mux, slot 0, select code 16.
-
- What I am looking for is a way to re-sync and reset the card/os
- interface (without crashing the system) so I can clear this problem
- without rebooting the system.
-
- I have thought about writing a program to access the card directly
- via DMA and reset from there.
-
- Ideas anyone? Anyone gotta program to do this?
-
- Thanks
