  11. One of the DECStation 5000s I am using has no graphics card or keyboard.
  12. I have it networked to a SPARC II and basically use NFS and telnet to
  13. connect to it. The display variable is set to the SPARC system.
  14.  
  15. This works well, but the DECstation uses tty1 as the console port and
  16. any system messages that would typically show up in the session manager
  17. window are send to the serial port. As the system is set to autoboot,
  18. I normally don't have a serial terminal attached.

  20. My questions is:

  22.     How can I open a console window and redirect console output to
  23.     it (similar to contool on the SUN)?
