  31. Okay, so the "file system" books cover RMS.  That means that they're not
  32. file system books, and that they've been misnamed.  No, I'm not joking.

  34. RMS: RECORD Managment (manglement) Services.  Perhaps it takes a genious to
  35. see that this is a set of Services to Manage Records.  A record is not a file,
  36. but instead a part of a file.  File management is handled via $QIO calls.

  38. And, no, the IO User's Guide is not difficult by any means, at least not if
  39. you understand how to use $QIO.  It has many excellent examples, and it covers
  40. the file system.
