- I saw an info-mercial this morning, starring Tom Bosley, about a home
- computer called, as the header implies, the IQ Computing Device. It has
- 12 built in programs (which they spent about an hour telling us all
- about) and is for use ONLY with a television set.
-
- Anyway, I watched this for a while and noticed something quite odd. The
- graphics had a very C=64 flavor to them. I almost thought Vic 20, but
- there were too many colors. Has anybody else heard about this?
-
- The info-mercial assured the viewer that this was the machine that they
- needed to catapult them into the computer age, that they should avoid
- going with a big clone system because "installation is incredibly
- difficult." They seemed rather pleased with their word processing
- software (although it was in 40 columns) and failed to mention the fact
- that before little Susie can print out her book report, she might just
- need a printer. =)
-
- I did notice that there was a serial port on the back of the machine. It
- also had a numeric keypad.
-
- So, is this a 64 in sheep's clothing?
