- Recently I used PlaySID, a program that emulates 6510 code and the SID
- chip on an Amiga to play C64 music, to listen to some 64 pieces that
- somehow use a 4th voice to play samples. These pieces include the music
- from Arkanoid, Great Giana Sisters, and Turbo Outrun (intro). The last
- one of these sounds particularly impressive -- the 4th voice alone first
- plays a digitized track, then the 3 standard voices join in for music
- that sounds pretty close to what the Amiga can produce. Does anyone
- know how this is done? The 4th voice sounds completely independent of
- the other three and does not affect them in any way -- it's a true,
- separate channel.
