- Hello All!
- This is the runner of the cbm ftp site at cwaves.stfx.ca.
- I have some news:
- 1) we have approval for 56.6 Kbaud net connection which will be implemented
- next year. This is great news as currently all data goes over a 9600
- baud line.
- 2) the site is up and running fine with new uploads:
- first, an emulators section where there is a C64 emulator which runs
- on an IBM PC, and requires Hercules graphics. There is documentation in
- German which I have given to several people to translate and hope to
- have english docs supplied soon.
- Also there is a verion for the Amiga which I have to put up soon. This
- is a very nice and fast emulator and even multitasks, does rasters sound
- and sprites.
- 3) Some new files: zmodem for the 64! 2400bps source code (replaces
- kernal routy)! Blackice demo screen has solid filled 3d vectors etc.!
- Lots of new files and lots of the good files from other ftp sites.
- 4) coder may want to check the /pub/text section for some interesting
- docs. I have routines in C and Pascal to implement CORDIC, a method
- to computer transcenentals (that is, sine/cosine/tan/log/exp) in a very
- fast algorithm which uses only integers, shifts and adds.
- The x/y modem specifications
- IFF format.. TIFF specs.. etc.
- Also in the 64 section.. a program for the Amiga, which converts PPM
- picture files to FLI 64 pictures. PPM is a public domain set of
- utilities for image processing and conversion.
- Also some example FLI pics I converted to GIF format (for viewing on
- IBM Amiga Mac etc).
- I actually did have an IRCbot set up to work as a file server but I'm
- recoding that. Hope to see 64 bot on IRC in channel #c-64.
- Can anyone point me to a mail file server? I would like to open up
- the site that way as well.
- All contacts I have talked to about coding please contact me and also
- feel free to upload anything to this site (except commerical games).
