- Summary: I have a new copy of sV3.1
-
-
- Is SV3.1 for 386/486-based machines still 'interesting,'
- (useful, viable, etc.) given that BSD for similar hardware is
- free for the FTPing? I picked up an new old copy including the
- development set (all still shrink-wrapped) for what at the
- time seemd like a good price, but I haven't got around to doing
- anything with it. Mostly because I'm still getting lots of use
- from an old but loaded 3b1, and don't even have a 386 box yet.
-
- What machines, esp. newer machines, will it run on? Does it
- know about, e.g., ide drives?
-
- Should I just leave it shrink-wrapped and hope that some day it
- will become a collectible? ("I'll trade 'ya a 'Death of
- Superman,' a couple of early DC Batman's, and some mid 60's Pez
- containers for that virgin SV3.1...")
-
- thanks,
