-
- Any ADB keyboard or mouse equivalent for the Mac should work on the
- IIgs, provided it is an exact emulation of the Apple keyboard and
- mouse. Other devices require a device driver on the Mac, and on the
- IIgs. A IIgs driver is not usually supplied with these devices.
-
- For example, a Macintosh ADB TouchScreen will not work on a IIgs
- without a driver.
- An enterprising programmer should be able to write one. The company
- may be prepared to supply information on the register layout of the
- device, or the Mac driver could be disassembled to get this information.
-
-
- Someone else made a comment about certain keys on extended keyboards
- "not working" on the IIgs. All extended keyboard keys generate a
- unique key code (function keys all return lowercase letters with the
- "numeric keypad" bit set in the keyboard modifier register). Software
- needs to recognise these keys specially, and there aren't very many
- programs that do.
-
-
- Another person asked about Mac ADB modems. This is a case in which a
- device driver would be required, as well as a communications program
- that could be modified to use the driver instead of standard serial
- ports.
