  15. Error $0681 is "Event Queue Damaged".  It usually means that a program
  16. has written data into the wrong part of memory and overwrote part of
  17. the event queue.  Another common error that can occur in this
  18. situation is $0308 "Damaged HeartBeat Queue".

  20. The most common reason for either of these errors is a program with a
  21. bug (or a damaged program file), or a conflict between two programs.
  22. Have you installed any new INITs, Desk Accessories, etc. recently?
  23. Does the problem only appear within a particular application?
  24.  
  25. It may also indicate a heat-related problem in the computer, which
  26. could be fixed by installing a fan.
