- Help. I have a problem with the editor in Apple Pascal version 1.3.
- I'm using an unenhanced //e with 80 columns (an AE card, I think, with
- some extra memory). Normally I don't even think about the ^A function
- (that's the one that lets you see the right half of the screen when you
- are using only 40 columns). But sometimes I hit it accidentally when
- I'm typing. At the command line, it just shows garbage, but hitting it
- again restores the screen. Inside the editor, the same thing happens.
- But when I'm in input mode and have entered some text, the screen goes
- garbage-y and the system hangs. Nothing can restore it without rebooting,
- which loses everything I've been typing. It's a royal pain to have one
- simple, easily-hit keystroke ready to crash the whole thing. Is there
- something I can do about it? Perhaps I've missed some connfiguration
- item? I don't recall ever having this problem before. Either this is
- a new "feature" with 1.3 or my typing is getting worse. Thanks.
- (I guess I should go check my other machine that is enhanced but has
- an Apple Extended Memory 80-column card. Maybe it's the 80-column card.)
- Thanks for any help or insight.
