- I'm in the process of networking a bunch of computers over Ethernet
- with a NeXT as a server. So far I can use it to send out AFP to Mac's
- and PC's via IPT's uShare. This requires no software for the Mac's, just
- the Chooser and Ethertalk Level2. Will the GS's implementation of Ethertalk
- follow the Level II standards? In particular, are resources on a GS treated
- in a similar way to those on the Mac? I find it rather neat that the folders
- maintain their colours (record keeping enabled) with the Mac when running
- it off a NeXT. Will this also be implemented on the GS?
-
- One last item. Most printers are currently Localtalk, serial, etc...Will
- Apple's Internet Software provide a similar functionality to say a hardware
- bridge (I don't need TCP/IP-> Appletalk packet functionality as everything
- is AFP, and not TCP/IP, based) in terms of dealing with Ethertalk and
- Appletalk simultaneously active in a Mac? I realize there's lot's of Mac
- stuff here but the GS and Mac network very nicely. Now where is that Ethertalk
- board?
