  29. First of all, disregard the previous message. It's got some merit, but
  30. it is grossly inaccurate.

  32. Second of all, disregard the DATE of completion. It's WAY off!!!

  34. Let me put things in this perspective...

  36. 5-6 People are now in the stages of Beta testing both the Phase II
  37. release of FutureVision and a semi stable new METAL.

  39. The addressing and networking schemes that comprise the heart of the
  40. Futurenet have been significantly changed to facilitate EASY translation
  41. between Internet Mail / Usenet etc...
  42.  
  43. Shell commands (Metal's Shell version of Externals!) have been written
  44. to make converting data between the two networks easier. Mainly, code
  45. has been written that will allow conversion between lf and cr's.
  46.  
  47. I am currently running FV 5.0d1 on my system at home. The basic core of
  48. the system is very stable, hwever, the severe intense Networking code is
  49. flaky. A lot of it has NOT been completed yet. (What the heck, it's a
  50. beta!)
