- OK..Let me clear all this up before we get people flaming left and right
- and spreading rumors here....
-
- First of all, disregard the previous message. It's got some merit, but
- it is grossly inaccurate.
-
- Second of all, disregard the DATE of completion. It's WAY off!!!
-
- Let me put things in this perspective...
-
- 5-6 People are now in the stages of Beta testing both the Phase II
- release of FutureVision and a semi stable new METAL.
-
- The addressing and networking schemes that comprise the heart of the
- Futurenet have been significantly changed to facilitate EASY translation
- between Internet Mail / Usenet etc...
-
- Shell commands (Metal's Shell version of Externals!) have been written
- to make converting data between the two networks easier. Mainly, code
- has been written that will allow conversion between lf and cr's.
-
- I am currently running FV 5.0d1 on my system at home. The basic core of
- the system is very stable, hwever, the severe intense Networking code is
- flaky. A lot of it has NOT been completed yet. (What the heck, it's a
- beta!)
-
- The addressing now intelligently routes internet mail...
