- -> Okay, AppleNet is just a BBS Program, there is no network code in
- -> AppleNet. Metal is a BBS Language, similar to ACOS, but much faster
- -> and better, IMHO. The BBS Program that is most widely used under ACOS
- -> is GBBS, which has no net code involved, although you can various
- -> networks, such as FidoNet (but nasty code), OggNET (Which was once a
- -> semi-large network, but is now down to like 15 nodes), TeamNet (Which
- -> code I haven't seen) and IIneNet (which code I haven't seen).
-
- Actually, I believe OGG-Net maxed out once at about 18 nodes. For
- some reason, we tend to stay around the same; 15-16 nodes or so. As
- Steve said, we are in the process of getting a couple of more nodes,
- but we have never been as big as you might imagine. We just seem to
- get quite a lot of "press," I suppose. :)
