- First, I applaud and strongly support folks in critical management
- decision making position at Apple Computer, Inc. (especially, the CEO in
- this case} to come on-line and talk directly to user's or developers.
- Hey, what better place to hear it directly {without filtering}, than
- rubbing up against those that really use the machines day-in and day-out!
-
- Second...I do believe that Apple will continue to support the IIgs {they
- have so far}, but that at some point in time, a decision has to be made
- {painful one, I'm sure} to move resources elsewhere.
-
- Third...From my experience, local dealers help fuel the negative attitude
- many IIgs user's have/had toward Apple Computer with THEIR lack of
- support. Too, I experienced this with Apple's own User Connection
- division by the lack of support and coverage in their newsletter.
-
- Fourth...I suggest that Apple Computer does a better (read...earlier) job
- of PR by getting information out quickly regarding it's position and
- planned actions surrounding the IIgs and future support. This way,
- rumors are stopped early.
-
- Last, I did find it hard to finally realize that technology changes ever
- so fast in the computer industry. And "yes", a year ago I wanted to
- believe that my IIgs would keep current and Apple Computer and third
- party support would continue to grow. It simply doesn't happen for any
- specific computer system. Overall, Apple computer has done a better job
- with upgrades than most.
-
- Hey, what-a I know :-\ I've only been doing this IIgs stuff for 7 years
- and truely love it! But, it's almost time for me to move on to a new
- system, based on my needs.
