  14.   Available via anonymous ftp is version 1.15 of KingFisher, fixing all
  15.   bugs (including a problem with national characters the presence of which
  16.   could lockup the program.)  Version 1.15 also adds a number of features,
  17.   such as FirstFish/LastFish gadgets.

  19.   General overview of KingFisher:

  21.   KingFisher is a freely distributable replacement for Aquarium, providing
  22.   a mechanism to search for software in Fred Fish's Library of Freely
  23.   Distributable Software.  KingFisher has been designed for users of both
  24.   floppy-only and harddisks systems operating under either Kickstart 1.3
  25.   or Kickstart 2.0.  Some features are available only under Kickstart 2.0.

  27.   KingFisher v1.15 offers the following features:

  29.   - Maintains a split database across multiple disk volumes,
  30.   - Searches this database more than 3 times faster than Aquarium,
  31.   - Provides a small and very fast program name search index,
  32.   - Adds new fish directly from Contents files or Usenet postings,
  33.     even from multiple concatenated postings or email contents files,
  34.   - Fish can be deleted from the end of the database to undo errors,
  35.   - Database is a line-oriented text file accessed through index
  36.     which can be modified by hand and then reindexed,
  37.   - Flexible print and export functions, including search-filtered
  38.     output,
  39.   - Select from multiple different search strings,
  40.   - Limit searches to a portion of the database,
  41.   - Follow version links to older or newer versions of software,
  42.   - Maintain multiple different "bookmarks" into the database and
  43.     switch between them with a single mouse click,
  44.   - Supports proportional and scalable fonts for description text,
  45.   - Now supports the 2.0 display database including Text Overscan.
  46.     Limited support for overscan, PAL, and interlace displays is
  47.     available under 1.3.
  48.   - String gadgets are optionally kept active for keyboard comfort,
  49.   - Full configuration saved between executions,
  50.   - Iconifies to save Chip RAM (46K).

  52. This update does not include a database.  To obtain the database you must
  53. obtain a file named KingFisher.lha which is 477691 bytes in size, or obtain
  54. version 1.11 from the Fish Disks.  KingFisher115.lha is 75809 bytes in
  55. size.
