  12.   Guess what I'n  √running my 1200 off.  However -- the 3.0 Amiga Operating
  13. System floppy diskette is in a format which a 1.3 machine cannot read. 
  14. Before I hooked up my old 1010 to the 1200 so that I could write with the
  15. machine (the internal drive grundging any diskette it attempted to write
  16. to......), I tried to use the 500 to copy the new disk - and the 500 didn't
  17. recognize the disk as being an Amiga dik.  3.0 can format diskettes in
  18. several different ways:  the OFS old file system used by 1.3, the NFS new
  19. file system used by 2.0 and 2.1, a cached disk format recognized only by
  20. system 3 machines, and an international format which I'd have to look up in
  21. the Workbench manual (I want an AmigaDOS manual!  Why oh why did Commodore
  22. make the inane decision to NOT include an AmigaDOS manual, ARexx manual,
  23. and hard drive install support with ALL 1200s!  It's an example of the sort
  24. of thing that inspires people to buy their computers from some other
  25. company.....) as to whether it works only with operating system 3 machines,
  26. or with machines running version 3.x as well.
