- Sure. Anything that's a new technology, a mature technology, or obsolete
- technology. Winchester hard disks are a mature technology. Internal combustion
- engines are a mature technology. Core memory is an obsolete technology. MS-DOS
- is an obsolete technology. CD-ROM is a stepping stone to commodity read-write
- optical disk.
