  11. Since I just went through the hassle of getting my new A1200
  12. display configured for my A1960 monitor I figured I would
  13. relate the info here and add it to the distributed mind
  14. of the UseNet.

  16. First of all, if you are using a multiscan monitor and want to
  17. take advantage of most of the screen modes provided by AGA you
  18. must put the VGAONLY monitor in DEVS/MONITORS. For some reason
  19. this fixes most of the problems I had.

  21. Next drag all of the monitor types you want to play with into the
  22. devs/monitors drawer and reboot.

  24. After your workbench comes up go into the overscan prefs tool
  25. and adjust the overscan so it look like you want it to. Using
  26. a tool called "BBlank" will help you get the screen centered.
  27. You will probably have to use the controls on your monitor to
  28. move the screen to the center. After you get one screen mode
  29. overscan prefs set up save it and switch to the next screen 
  30. mode and then repeat the process. NOTE: you should only need
  31. to mess with the controls on your monitor once. On my 1960
  32. I have the vertical size set to auto and the other switch set
  33. to "add". I then meeded with the horizontal position so it
  34. looked OK.

  36. This process will allow ou to use all of the screen modes fine
  37. except for "MULTISCAN:Productivity" and "EURO72:Productivity".
  38. For some reason the presence of the VGAONLY monitor type causes
  39. these two display modes to be limited to 636 displayable horizontal 
  40. resolution, resulting in a WB the scrolls left and right 4 pixels
  41. when you move the mouse to the edge of the screen. Weird. But the
  42. ability to get all of the other screen modes to work right more
  43. than make up for it!
