- Since I just went through the hassle of getting my new A1200
- display configured for my A1960 monitor I figured I would
- relate the info here and add it to the distributed mind
- of the UseNet.
-
- First of all, if you are using a multiscan monitor and want to
- take advantage of most of the screen modes provided by AGA you
- must put the VGAONLY monitor in DEVS/MONITORS. For some reason
- this fixes most of the problems I had.
-
- Next drag all of the monitor types you want to play with into the
- devs/monitors drawer and reboot.
-
- After your workbench comes up go into the overscan prefs tool
- and adjust the overscan so it look like you want it to. Using
- a tool called "BBlank" will help you get the screen centered.
- You will probably have to use the controls on your monitor to
- move the screen to the center. After you get one screen mode
- overscan prefs set up save it and switch to the next screen
- mode and then repeat the process. NOTE: you should only need
- to mess with the controls on your monitor once. On my 1960
- I have the vertical size set to auto and the other switch set
- to "add". I then meeded with the horizontal position so it
- looked OK.
-
- This process will allow ou to use all of the screen modes fine
- except for "MULTISCAN:Productivity" and "EURO72:Productivity".
- For some reason the presence of the VGAONLY monitor type causes
- these two display modes to be limited to 636 displayable horizontal
- resolution, resulting in a WB the scrolls left and right 4 pixels
- when you move the mouse to the edge of the screen. Weird. But the
- ability to get all of the other screen modes to work right more
- than make up for it!
-
- If you are going through hell getting your A1200 display configured
- feel free to mail me at IANK@MICROSOFT.COM.
