- Howdy Net_Folk (Once again);
-
- Been havin' a bit of trouble with the new 4000 in the stable....
-
- The monitor is a bit mis-converged near the bottom (I expected that, it is a
- 1960, ya know... :-(
-
- That's not too bad, I'll get it under Gold Service some day.
-
- The real problem is with the machine itself. I brought it home the other
- day to show it off. We set it up in my friend's house, got it running,
- and within an hour, the mouse port died. Strange, eh? Spontaneously
- died.
-
- So I get back last night, and give C= a call (GS), but was told to call
- back today (Monday). It seems that my account isn't activated with them
- yet.. even though I've already received my paperwork.
-
- So the eveny lasted all today.. 5 or 6 calls, several holds, and 3
- "we'll get back to you later".
-
- After a wasted day, I'm still on hold. They had to call SMG to get some
- info, but SMG's computers wen't down and then they closed for the day before
- they returned C='s call.
-
- This being my first encounter with the lovely Gold Service, I'm not all that
- happy thusfar. Does anyone know how crippled an Amiga is without a mouse??
-
- ---------------------------
-
- So the problem is this: 3 weeks ago, I took my scsi tape back-up unit and
- restored my data files. Yes, I broke "The Seal". I took my old C= scsi
- card, placed it into my C= computer, and did a restore. I've had 5 Amigas
- 3 1000's, 1 2000, and my present 4000. I run a lab full of pc's and pull
- boards all the time. It had to be done, so I did it.
-
- Now, when they get this thing, after all the paper settles, am I about to
- get the shaft because I used my computer for it's produced purpose!?!?!?
-
- Had I known this, I'd have gotten a 1200.....
