  25. I don't want a "full-featured" program, I just want a safe program that
  26. will put things back in an ordered state and tell me what was lost in
  27. the shuffle.  Nearly everything on my HD is either backed up or is out
  28. on an FTP site where I can get it and reinstall it.  People keep sending
  29. me mail and telling me I'm asking for all these whiz-bang features, and
  30. that's not what I'm after at all.

  34. My experience with Norton is that it can't fix what CHKDSK can't fix.
  35. If my directories get overwritten with junk, CHKDSK complains of all
  36. sorts of cross-linked files, and Norton turns everything into a
  37. scrambled mess.  That's why I do backups.
