  16. I've got a problem. I recently got the WB2.1 kit, upgrading my A500 from 
  17. 1.2 to 2.1. Now, back when I had 1.2 installed, I would get around 853K free
  18. on the system after doing a minimal boot. I pretty much just Mounted my HD,
  19. did a loadwb, and a endcli. Everything worked OK back then and I actually
  20. had some RAm to play with. My system only has 1 Meg (512 chip/ 512 fast).

  22. Now that I've got 2.1 installed I only have about 700K left! What gives? I did
  23. a full normal installation, using C= original Startup-sequence. The only thing
  24. I changed in it was that I made a couple of assignments to the various system
  25. drawers on my Hard Drive so I can do a faster boot from it (my HD controller is
  26. non-autobooting.) This is nothing all that special.

  28. I guess what I'm asking is: What can I kill from WB to free up some RAM? I
  29. don't use ARexx, only run a non-interlaced 4 color WB (although I'd like to go
  30. to interlaced for more room on the screen), and don't use commodities that
  31. much. I've been leaving my external floppy turned off to save a little, and
  32. I've tried to cut down on some of the other stuff. But, one of the biggest
  33. reasons I got 2.1 was cause it looked so much nicer than 1.x with the
  34. screen and window backdrops, etc. Now, that I have it, I'm beginning to 
  35. wonder if it was wother the $104 I paid for the kit.
