-
- YES! it is going the same direction as your old Spectrum +3 (just as my
- old rubby speccy 48K (nice in 1984 though) :-). The deal includes a lot
- of stuff and could have been a resonable deal if it was not for the new
- Amiga line of AGA machines (A1200, A4000, CDTV Mark II...). I'm totally
- convinced that you will be mighty disappointed if buying an old A500 1.2
- instead of a slick A1200. The A1200 will cost you some more but it is an
- terrific machine with an interresting future. The A500 (especially 1.2)
- will get less software support in just the very near future.
-
- The new chipset (AGA), the faster M68020 processor (4-5x, A500 is _slow_)
- and the fast, colourful and much more useful Kickstart & Workbench 3.0
- makes an old A500 1.2 a very *BAD* deal. The A1200 looks like a terrific
- machine, especially if you were impressed by the A500. New games software
- are going to make full use of the advanced graphics capabilities of the
- AGA chipset and professional software will soon declare Kickstart 1.2
- obsolete (it is...) and make KS 2.04 (and even 3.0) only versions.

-
- Yes, but the future (present?) market is KS 2.04 and 3.xx.

-
- NO! buy an Amiga 1200. It costs some more, but it is a *much* better
- machine. Even the A600 will be obsolete in the near future!
