  22. YES! it is going the same direction as your old Spectrum +3 (just as my 
  23. old rubby speccy 48K (nice in 1984 though) :-). The deal includes a lot
  24. of stuff and could have been a resonable deal if it was not for the new 
  25. Amiga line of AGA machines (A1200, A4000, CDTV Mark II...). I'm totally 
  26. convinced that you will be mighty disappointed if buying an old A500 1.2
  27. instead of a slick A1200. The A1200 will cost you some more but it is an
  28. terrific machine with an interresting future. The A500 (especially 1.2) 
  29. will get less software support in just the very near future.

  31. The new chipset (AGA), the faster M68020 processor (4-5x, A500 is _slow_) 
  32. and the fast, colourful and much more useful Kickstart & Workbench 3.0 
  33. makes an old A500 1.2 a very *BAD* deal. The A1200 looks like a terrific
  34. machine, especially if you were impressed by the A500. New games software 
  35. are going to make full use of the advanced graphics capabilities of the 
  36. AGA chipset and professional software will soon declare Kickstart 1.2 
  37. obsolete (it is...) and make KS 2.04 (and even 3.0) only versions.

  48. NO! buy an Amiga 1200. It costs some more, but it is a *much* better 
  49. machine. Even the A600 will be obsolete in the near future!
