- I recently upgraded my A500 with a new 1MEG Agnus and
- a Super Denise. Installation went flawlessly and I love the
- new modes and resolutions...
-
- Somehow I expected that I would have tons of free chip
- RAM after the new Agnus went in (I have a four megs of RAM
- via a BaseBoard in the belly slot), but there is only
- about 500K of Chip RAM reported in t
- via the "avail" command. Is there anyway to force the things
- that I load in my Startup into Fast RAM vs Chip RAM? Is there
- a utility that will allow me to move everything to Fast RAM
- after the machine boots up and reclaim the Chip RAM?
-
- The primary reason that this is so important is that
- the machine seems to "outrun" itself in some applications and
- splatters odd streaks and garbage on the screen in some
- graphics intensive applications. I was able to decrease this
- phenomena by commenting out the "addbuffers" command in my
- startup which reclaimed some Chip RAM (with a corresponding
- decrease in hard and floppy disk access times...*sigh*).
-
- Suggestions and comments are welcome. I'll summarize
- if there is sufficient interest.
