  31. Okay, a couple hours after posting this I discovered the solution to my problem:

  33. a very thorough cold boot (i.e. leave the machine off for 5 min) - duh! This,

  35. at least, might serve as a warning to those of you who run AMAX with WB 2.1 - 
  36.  
  37. it looks as if AMAX leaves something odd behind in RAM, somthing 2.1's 
  38.  
  39. setpatch REALLY dislikes.
