  12. HiLo.  The printer cable on my friend's 1000 recently went bad (it was
  13. a cheap hack job from a local amiga dealer), so for christmas, I went out
  14. and bought him a regular cable with a gender changer on it, figuring that
  15. would do.   Bzzt.  Wrong!  When he plugged everything in and turned on the 
  16. computer, the computer just hung there...blank (black) screen...didn't even
  17. get to the kickstart requester.

  19.   is it some wire that needs to be cut or jumped in the cable?  If so, I can
  20. perform that operation myself.  Please advise.  thanks.
