- Seems like there is a lot of misinformation floating around about
- the TRUE fps AGA and/or the 4000 is capable of, well here is some factual
- data I came up with using my 4000 and Three different display programs.
- My opinions follow the True data.
-
- All Anims were in ANIM5 format created my the makeanim program.
- Frames consist of a 'flight' in Scenery animator 2.
- Average Delta is the average amount of data changing each frame as reported
- by VIEW3.2
-
- Anim sz. 4.8 Meg | 2.3 Meg | 1.72 Meg | 572 K
- Avg Delta 88.8 K | 43.6 K | 27.1 K | 9K
- format 736x482x4(dctv| 704x240xHam8 | 320x200xHam8 | 320x200x5
-
- View 3.2 8.33FPS | 1.66FPS | 1.92 FPS | 32 FPS
- Viewtek 1.02 9.1 FPS | 1.98FPS | 2 FPS | 29.5 FPS
- PPshow3.0a 9.2 FPS | 8.13FPS | 15.5 FPS | 29.5 FPS
-
- As you can see the Delta was nearly full screen (as most Scenery anims are)
- This data shows me that the software is now the bigest factor in playback
- speed.
- PPshow definately has something the other two don't when it comes to AGA
- I don't pretend to be as accurate as 1 onehundreth of a frame,
- that's just how the numbers divided out.
-
- As has already been stated I think we need a new Anim format and better
- players
