- In a sense, yes, but it is probably more accurate to say that the 519
- and 3B1 don't mate well. The Priam has a daughterboard that contains the
- head amps, on the right front side of the drive. When installed in the
- 3B1, this board sits adjacent to the power supply. It is indeed true that
- shielding is necessary here or bit errors will occur in actual operation.
- With the shield in place I have never had an error on a priam 519 that
- could not be attributed to some other component failures. Aside from this
- one known point of sensitivity, the priam 519 has proven itself as an
- exceptionally rugged and durable drive. In fact, except for this point,
- I've never personally heard of one failing (although I'm sure I will now).
