- Greetings Macintosh and Unix-based 6811 programmers,
-
- I've installed ports of the Motorola "as11" 6811 assembler program
- onto the MIT Media Lab server machine. This code is Motorola
- freeware---yay, no sending money or waiting for disks!
-
- The Mac port is in pub/miniboard/mac/as11.sit.hqx. There is a
- double-clickable application and Think C 4.0 source code. A Mac
- downloader for the resulting .s19 records is named dlm.sit.hqx in that
- directory.
-
- The Unix port is in pub/miniboard/unix/as11.tar.Z. There is no
- executable but it should compile easily; I've cleaned up a few
- problems with the original PC-oriented sources. There is a version of
- the downloader program with changes to work with Unix serial lines
- that were made by Ted Dunning.
-
-
- So, 6811 assembly hackers can program away with freeware based systems
- now. I hope to port the Mini Board C libraries for use as assembly
- language subroutine libraries; this would make programming in assembly
- almost fun!
-
- Now, if the freeware 6811 Small-C system weren't so durned MS-DOS
- specific...has anyone ever had any luck porting that thing?
-
-
- Holiday cheers,
-
- Fred
