- Here is a copy of the original announcment from the author Ben James:

- Subject: Oditrpkt- Open BETA test!
- Date: Wed, 2 Dec 1992 03:16:24 GMT
-
- I have a copy of oditrpkt.com working now. Actually it works better than one
- could of expected. In theory this driver should work with any mechine which
- has an odi driver which supports Token-ring_snap frame type which should be
- most of them.
-
- This driver may be found on datacomm.ucc.okstate.edu (139.78.1.2)
-
- under pub/oditrpkt/beta1.zip
-
- So far I have tested it with rarp, arp, and IP. Can anyone think of any
- protocols which have fields that change between token-ring and ethernet.
- I had to change the ethertype values in the arp and rarp packets and also
- their size. Are there any other packets that Token-ring has that are under
- 60 bytes in legnth. Are there any protocols which have specific fields for
- ethernet and for token-ring. I wan't this driver to be as generic as possible
- so I need to know if these exist.
-
- I have tested it with a novell router and right now I'm also using it with
- pcroute to route this connection. I haven't seen any problems with this
- version as of yet.
