  14.    On Page 37 of Australian Communications December/January 1992-3 I find the
  15. following tidbit:

  17.   X.400 Group to Speed E-Mail
  18.  
  19.   A new group has been formed to develop a standard way to send X.400
  20.   electronic mail across ordinary telephone networks. Called the Asynchronous
  21.   Protocol Specification (APS) Aliance. The group was formed in late October
  22.   at the Electronic Messaging Association conference by Isocor, an e-mail
  23.   developer, and Norwegian Telecom. If an APS specification results the group
  24.   will make it available to the public domain and will propose it to the CCITT
  25.   for formal standardisation. Other companies involved in the alliance include
  26.   Apple, Microsoft, British Telecom, DBP Telekom, Transpac and Thompson Syseca.

  28. Some that was hard to read on the fax copy I got so spellings might be slightly
  29. wrong. Does anyone know:

  33.     3. An idea of what the spec will be based on - i.e. seeing that X.25
  34.     across asynchronous lines is now blessed by ISO as a standard.
