- This problem exists under HP-UX 8.0 with CAP 6.0 Patch level 126
- (it also was in patch level 100, but I didn't notice it.)
-
- When the "Network Trash Folder" is set up by aufs (in afpos.c),
- it leaves the ownership of this directory as root, rather than
- changing it to the ownership of the parent directory. This
- is not a problem on the Suns/Solbornes. The result of this
- is that the user is told that the item cannot be left in the
- trash and must be deleted immediately. On the working systems
- the user is not prompted unless they attempt to terminate
- their aufs connection and have not emptied the trash (Mac OS 7.1).
-
- A quick workaround would be to chmod this directory 770 so that
- the user could write in it, but I'd prefer to have it set
- correctly.
-
- Has anyone seen/patched this?
-
- Please send replies directly to me heather@issci1.ucsd.edu.
-
- Thank you,
- Happy New Year!
