  29. I just wanted to add my $.02 here regarding the CP Backup portion of
  30. PC Tools 8.0 mentioned above. I've had the opportunity to use this package
  31. as well as the COREL SCSI package to do backups on my system, and I
  32. agree with Curtis that PC Tools 8.0 is the way to go (for now). Here's
  33. a list of my gripes about the current version of COREL SCSI for 
  34. use as a SCSI tape backup vehicle:

  36.     Doesn't support multiple tape backups
  37.     Doesn't support compression of data
  38.     Doesn't support SMARTDRIVE write caching (you have to disable
  39.      caching during a backup session under DOS or Windows - I can't
  40.          tell you how painful Windows is without caching!)

  42. To be fair, COREL's Windows interface is very nice, and I'll probably use 
  43. this package if COREL ever fixes these deficiencies, but they don't seem
  44. too motivated to do so (based on my tech support discussions).

  46. From what I understand, CP Backup 8.0 is not out as a separate package
  47. yet, so you must buy PC Tools 8.0 to get it. Also, they're still working
  48. on the Windows version of PC Tools 8.0, so it's a DOS only package.
