- I have a Fujitsu M2624SA 520MB 3.5" drive I'm trying to install in a
- Sparcstation... it came with a power-cable for a Mac, so I had to
- hack my own. The connector on both sides is the standard 4-sleeve
- flat type... I had another one and just wired them together so that
- the same sleeves (right word? opposite of pin) were connected together.
- Then I hooked it up and started powered up the computer. The drive
- started up, but was vibrating like hell... I turned the power off
- again, because I was worried that it would damage itself if it started
- seeking over the disk. Could it be that I switched the 12V and 5V
- connections? I took the voltage coming from the computer, and the
- way I have it now is like this...
-
- 5V 12V

- Could someone tell me whether this is right, please? Any other ideas
- as to what might cause the drive to be vibrating so much?
