- I should mention that with the Improved HG (High-Grade) Sony 8mm tape
- (P6-120HGf), my Exabyte drive would often stop accepting the tape. Sometimes
- I could fix this with a "reset" (pull the tape out, close the door onto the
- empty drive, push the eject button to pop the door back open). But often I'd
- just have to power cycle the drive (I do this by pulling off the SCSI bus
- connector, turning the drive off, waiting 10 seconds, turning the drive back
- on, carefully plug the SCSI connector back in - note that in this procedure
- the drive power is *never* turned on while the drive is connected to the SCSI
- bus, since I'd guess the other devices on the bus would not like this).

- But a few months ago I upgraded my Exabyte to a drive with newer ROMs,
- and I haven't had any trouble since.
