- -
- - In the case of ISC, embedded support consists of a space.c file for the
- - aha1540, for configuring it into the kernel.
-
- It also includes a Driver.o, in /etc/conf/pack.d/aha1540. Use
- kconfig to configure the high performance disk drivers for bet
- performance.
-
- - It runs, I think, as an
- - ST-506 (right??) until you specifically configure the kernel for it. I
- - believe this has been the situation since 2.0.2, maybe longer.
-
- Actually, the aha154x is recognized early in the boot sequence
- (after the bootstrap loader has loaded the kernel, and during the
- device probes), and is run natively from the start. It isn't
- optimally configured for any system, since it is set up to install
- on a 4M system, but it does use "real" aha154x commands and interfaces
- from the very start. This has been true since at least 2.0.2.
-
- Remember, to use the ST506 emulation, the BIOS needs to be
- running, and UNIX doesn't use the BIOS..
