- I would suggest using two single ended/differential converters. This extends
- the cable length to 25 m.
-
- BTW, a question for you hardware wizards: assume a setup like this:
-
- T---+----/================/----+----T
-
- Where the T's are the terminators, the -- stand for single ended and
- the == for differential; the +'s are a connection to a controller
- and the /'s are SE/D converters.
-
- What is the maximum cable length? 6m for each -- segment, plus
- 25 m for ===? Or 25-x m for ===, with x being some value
- that converts the --- length into a differential length?
-
- Of course this means that the lengthes are either calculated
- from propagation delay (the 25-x case) or from cable factors
- like diffusion (the "refresh" case), or both (ending up in some
- other value for x).
