- | I was wondering if anyone on the net could provide me
- | with some help/input/information concerning printers, more
- | specifically the issue of voltage and frequency differences
- | overseas. I am planning to buy a portable printer or laser
- | one for a friend who will be using it overseas mainly, hence
- | requiring 220V/50Hz.
- | Can he simply use a voltage converter, disgarding the
- | frequency ? My knowledge in EE is quite limited. However, I
- | would guess the frequency would come in play whenever there
- | is a use of motors.
- | I am mostly interested in the Deskjet portable/500, the
- | Canon bj200 or else.
-
- I cannot comment on the BJ-200 except that I heard that it is an
- AC only unit. The DJ portable is a DC unit (uses camcorder
- batteries). So it will work any where.
-
- Caveat: The AC adaptor may be voltage specific. I believe you
- can either buy an option from HP for any voltage supply or else
- simply get an AC-to-DC converter with the correct input/output
- from any electronics store (be sure to bring your DJ manual :-) ).
