- No, it is not true...BUT...
- The 8-bit WD card has boot ROM on it to deal with the hard disk. For this
- reason, you must tell the BIOS of your 286 that you have *no* hard disk(s)
- installed. The machine will boot from the controller, just like an XT.
- Unfortunately, with an 8-bit card, performance will be poor, like an XT.
- Chances are, you'll only be able to get 3:1 interleave. If you get a
- true 16 bit card, you'll be able to set interleave to 2:1 or even 1:1.
