- CALL FOR PAPERS
-
- PPAI-93
- Second International Workshop on
- Parallel Processing for Artificial Intelligence
-
- August 29 or 30 (TBA), 1993
- (During IJCAI-93)
- Chambery, France
-
-
- The Second International Workshop on Parallel Processing for Artificial Intelli-
- gence will be held in Chambery, France in conjunction with IJCAI-93.
-
- In recent years we have seen the emergence of parallel machines. In spite of the
- wide acceptance of parallel processing as a major technology for modern comput-
- ing, only a few AI applications have been successfully implemented on parallel
- machines.
-
- The intent of this workshop is to bring together hardware architects, AI resear-
- chers, and application engineers who are engaged in or interested in parallel
- artificial intelligence. Through key presentations and ample discussions, it is
- hoped that the workshop will facilitate the exchange of ideas among researchers
- and contributes to bridging the gap between hardware architects and AI research-
- ers. The granularity of parallelism discussed at the workshop will range from
- coarse-grain to fine-grain parallel processing.
-
- The program committee invites submission of high quality contributions on para-
- llelism in AI. Topics of interest include but are not limited to the following:
-
- * Parallel Algorithms for AI
- Parallel Search, Problem Solving, Planning, Constraint-directed Reasoning,
- Decision Making, Natural Language Processing, Vision, etc.
-
- * Parallel Inference Systems
- Parallel Deduction, Automated Theorem Proving, Concurrent Logic Languages,
- Implementations, Performance Evaluations, etc.
-
- * Massive Parallelism for AI
- Massively Parallel Machines (Architecture, Benchmarks, etc.), Spreading
- Activation, Connectionism, Bulk Data Processing, etc.
-
-
- Please submit two (2) copies of a detailed abstract (approx. 1500 words) or a
- full paper (limited to 5000 words) to each of the three workshop chairmen listed
- below (i.e., a total of six copies) by March 15, 1993. Please send, if possible,
- e-mail versions of your paper to the chairmen as well. All submitted papers will
- be reviewed by the workshop committee.
- It is our intent to publish a workshop proceedings to be made available at the
- workshop.
-
- Important dates:
-
- * Papers due: March 15, 1993
- * Notification of Acceptance: April 15, 1993
- * Camera-ready version due: May 15, 1993
-
- For participation, each attendee must have registered for the main conference
- and needs to pay an additional 300 F (approx. 60 US$) for the workshop.
