- Oh? Practicing without a license, are we? You can get in a LOT of trouble for
- that, you know!
-
- It appears to me that the ignoramuses who think that they should be able to
- have other people run their systems for them are a lot more insecure than those
- of us who actually help people with their problems with VMS (of course, some of
- us don't take kindly to morons claiming to "manage" VMS systems when they
- haven't a clue to how VMS works; and we fully expect said morons to call us
- insecure.
-
- Can you say "projection"?
-
- I knew you could!

- Well, to tell you the truth, I'm no more willing to suffer fools gladly in
- persan than I am over the net, dickhead (I'm also not so fucked up that I'll
- put asterisks in a word so I can try to pretend I didn't really say it; can
- you say "hypocrisy"? I knew you could!

-
- You know, that's EXACTLY what I was thinking about the various shit-for-brains
- assholes who don't think they need to know anything about VMS to manage a VMS
-
- system.

- That's understandable. You don't seem to be able to understand anything. Why
- should this particular instance be an exception?

-
- Well, some of us are also taught that it's impolite to claim stupidity as a
- virtue. Apparently they don't teach that "over there." Please refrain from
- being impolite in that way in the future.
-

- True.

-
- I never said it did. I *DID* point out that in Sabry's case, his lack of
- fluency in English is impairing his ability to manage a VMS system. Perhaps
- it's your own lack of fluency in the language that caused you to miss this
- subtle distinction?
-
- >- all of us even don't know how to RTFM (I hope I do)
-
- Learning to RTFM should be the first step in the education of a system manager.
- If someone claims to be a system manager but doesn't know how to RTFM, then his
- employer should be able to sue him for fraud.
-
- >That shouldn't prevent us from using this magnificent resource - the net -
- >in order to solve our problems better and faster than anyway else,
- >should it?
-
- No. However, if, like Sabry, you ask questions, then ignore any and all
- answers you receive, you should be prepared to be flamed for your willful
- stupidity.
-
- >Maybe the typical FAQ's don't need to be followed up (we don't want
- >to read the answers, nor the flames), they could just be replyed?
-
- Let me point out that I've never flamed anybody for asking a FAQ. I *HAVE*
- flamed people for asking a question, ignoring the answers, and then asking the
- same question again, and I *HAVE* flamed people for asking a question that was
- covered in a thread within the past week, when they've been active in the group
- while that thread was going on.
-
- >AND, you could read your posting (at least once) before you post it
- >(believe it or not, I did that).
-
- Well, jackass, I've done the same. You seem to be a royal dickhead (not a
- d*ckhead). You seem to believe that it's possible to manage a VMS system
- withoug having a clue as to how VMS works. You seem to think that this is not
- INFO-VAX, but
- I-AM-TOO-STUPID/LAZY-TO-LEARN-VMS-SO-PLEASE-DO-MY-JOB-FOR-ME-AND-DO-NOT-ASK-
- ME-TO-TAKE-THE-TROUBLE-TO-LEARN-MY-JOB-BECAUSE-IF-YOU-DO-THAT-MIGHT-
- HURT-MY-FEELINGS
-
- >I dunno.
-
- You got that right!
-
- >Anyway, Merry Christmas And A Happy New (less flamey :-) Year 1993!
-
- Take a look at some of my posts from tonight. I don't flame people
- indiscriminately. I *DO* flame people who take pride in their willful
- stupidity. Yourself included. May you learn enough in the new year that you
- no longer deserve such flames.

- Disclaimer: Hey, I understand VAXen and VMS. That's what I get paid for. My
- understanding of astronomy is purely at the amateur level (or below). So
- unless what I'm saying is directly related to VAX/VMS, don't hold me or my
- organization responsible for it. If it IS related to VAX/VMS, you can try to
- hold me responsible for it, but my organization had nothing to do with it.
