  13. Just installed DEC TCP-IP on above configuration and have a few
  14. minor but irritating problems. As I'm new to this game, wondered if
  15. anyone out there can help me out...

  17. 1. Incoming Unix FTP connections always refused
  18.  
  19. Able to FTP both ways to other VMS boxes OK.
  20. Able to telnet and rlogin to other Unix boxes OK.
  21. Able to remote print to Unix box OK.
  22. Able to FTP from VMS to Unix OK.
  23. All incoming (unix) FTP connections denied with 'Connection refused'
  24. Have defined UCX$FTP_EXTLOG to enable 'extended' error logging but not
  25. clear where log file is held (nothing in ucx$ftpd.log)
  26. Consulted manual to no avail.
  27. Any ideas ?

  51. 2. Particular user refused FTP connection to Unix box

  53. Secondly, while outgoing FTP works to other Unix boxes works, one
  54. particular user is always denied a connection with the following msg

  56.   530 User arc access denied. 
  57.   %UCX-E-FTP_LOGREJ, Login request rejected 
  58.  
  59. even before the Password: prompt is offered. Almost as though this
  60. user has been blacklisted or has network INTRUSIONS against his name.
  61.  
  62. 3. Disabling TELNET and RLOGIN services only stops INCOMING
  63.    connections which seems wrong.
