- VAXstation 3100, SE/VMS 5.4-2 (VMS 5.4-3), DEC TCP-IP/UCX 2.0
-
- Just installed DEC TCP-IP on above configuration and have a few
- minor but irritating problems. As I'm new to this game, wondered if
- anyone out there can help me out...
-
- 1. Incoming Unix FTP connections always refused
-
- Able to FTP both ways to other VMS boxes OK.
- Able to telnet and rlogin to other Unix boxes OK.
- Able to remote print to Unix box OK.
- Able to FTP from VMS to Unix OK.
- All incoming (unix) FTP connections denied with 'Connection refused'
- Have defined UCX$FTP_EXTLOG to enable 'extended' error logging but not
- clear where log file is held (nothing in ucx$ftpd.log)
- Consulted manual to no avail.
- Any ideas ?

- Reject msg: not defined
- Accept host: 0.0.0.0
- Accept netw: 0.0.0.0
-
- 2. Particular user refused FTP connection to Unix box
-
- Secondly, while outgoing FTP works to other Unix boxes works, one
- particular user is always denied a connection with the following msg
-
- 530 User arc access denied.
- %UCX-E-FTP_LOGREJ, Login request rejected
-
- even before the Password: prompt is offered. Almost as though this
- user has been blacklisted or has network INTRUSIONS against his name.
-
- 3. Disabling TELNET and RLOGIN services only stops INCOMING
- connections which seems wrong.
-
- Thanks in advance
