- this is both simple and hard: The simple solution is to remove the file
- SYS$SYSTEM:DECW$PAUSESESSION.EXE (or rename it, or put ACL on it, or whatever).
- That will stop the average idiot from using the Pause function. The hard bit,
- of course, is to stop people from using one of the numerous Public Domain Pause
- Programs. Here I would recommend some heavy-handed tactics: Remove the standard
- one (as described above), and put up a log-on message to the effect that this
- kind of behaviour will not be accepted any longer. Then come down hard on the
- first "smart" offender ($MCR AUTHORIZE MODIFY/NOACCESS <offender> springs to
- mind). That'll cure'em...
