  20. OS/2 2.1 beta is a complete, standalone, functional operating system.
  21. It does not require any previous version in order to operate.  It
  22. contains copyrighted code from IBM, Microsoft, and others.  While IBM
  23. might feel generous, Microsoft may not be as happy about having freely
  24. available Win-OS/2 3.1.  They still charge for their version of
  25. Windows, after all.

  27. On the other hand, you can obtain it for $15 by calling 800-3-IBM-OS2.
  28. On CD-ROM, granted.  In the U.S., granted.  Also, the license
  29. accompanying this CD-ROM permits you to use the code for a limited
  30. time, and it permits you to distribute up to 10 copies "within your
  31. organization."  You may interpret the word "organization" broadly, I
  32. suppose.
