- A very odd occurrence this morning. I've been using OS/2 on my 8MB 486/33 for
- about 4 months, with no trouble at all. Today, when I turned on the computer,
- it went through the usual boot procedure for awhile -- the screen went to
- white, the little clock became a pointer, the Desktop 'exploded.' And there it
- sat -- no icons, none of the startup windows, NOTHING more appeared.
-
- The first time this occurred, I rebooted and then it came up normally. Next
- time I turned it on, it hung again with the white screen and a pointer, but
- neither warm nor cold boots would take the process any further. I turned off
- the computer and let it sit for a few hours, and the next time I booted it
- seems to have worked just fine (hey, I'm writing this note, so *something* is
- working).
-
- Any suggestions as to what might be happening?
