- I found a few problems with this (now fixed - read on). They were
- (note I have an ATI Wonder XL and an Aamazing 8426 monitor):
-
- 1. At 1024x768x256 I got a very bad WPS display - short flashing
- horizontal lines appeared to the right of every object. From earlier
- conversations with Joel Armengaud, I believe this is a problem with
- the driver not handling my non-interlaced monitor properly at this
- resolution (a combination of the monitor, board and driver?).
-
- The solution was to go back to the BVHSVGA.DLL file from the service
- pack (you did back it up before installing tri32new.exe, didn't you? :-)
- and use the SVGADATA.PMI file from Joel's ati256c2.zip file. This
- should only be necessary with some boards and monitors.
-
- 2. The directions did not explicitly say to add the Windows drivers
- to SYSTEM.INI, although I think it was clear from the examples.
- Change the line that starts sdisplay.drv=, and possibly the line
- that starts display.drv=..., but see the next point.
-
- 3. I found that when I did a CTRL-ESC from the full-screen WINOS2
- session to the desktop and back again, the WINOS2 cursor disappeared
- (deja vu all over again). The fix was to go back to using the ATI
- windows driver for full-screen WINOS2 (the line display.drv=...)
- while leaving the seamless driver (sdisplay.drv=...) set to the
- Trident driver.
