- Oops, sorry. When I wrote that I had no intention of attacking
- you, your theory, or the principle of theorizing on the net --
- How could I? I theorize here all the time. You'll note that I
- made a point of saying I agreed with the principle that a system
- should be robust enough to survive the loss of its console AND
- that a system with corrupt configuration files should boot to a
- default configuration.
-
- Funny thing about language -- you can (or, at least, I can)
- write in all sincerity a request for information: is that
- behavior (failure of system following failure or loss of console)
- uncommon including a request for concrete information rather than
- speculation or theorizing. However, the results end up sounding
- like something else entirely: an attack upon theorizing and upon
- an individual for doing so. Maybe I shouldn't post after 10:00 pm.
-
- Chris, I apologize. Upon rereading, I find my wording unfortunate
- and easily misinterpreted. I sure wish I had said it different way.
