- I agree that we should make an effort to stick to the charter of the
- newsgroup or the noise level just gets too high. However, you can't
- expect everyone's opinion of what is appropriate to match yours every
- time... correction, you can expect it if you choose -- you can "expect"
- anything you like... you can expect everyone who reads your postings
- to send you $100.00... you won't get it, but you can "expect" it.
-
- I was a contributor to the original thread, but I think that the
- thread became a little borderline regarding the charter of this
- newsgroup... not totally out in left field, but starting to digress,
- perhaps. When you see this happening, please do not panic and
- please do not blow up. If you must comment, please do not flame.
- Most flamage does not impress me... relatively few of us on the net
- are any good at it (just for the record, I do not count myself as
- one who is "good at it").

- P.S. I find rn's "k" key very handy in such cases. Most threads
- will die quickly if ignored. I haven't seen it in the
- relatively civilized os2 groups, but I have seen flame wars
- completely overshadow the original off-charter thread if not
- the whole damn group to no purpose.
