- Hmm, I had that information straight from an Adaptec Senior Engineer
- (that the PROM upgrade is only for MS-DOS and would break most of the
- other drivers in embedded support (OS/2, UNIX)) because they relied on
- the translation being done the 'old' way. Apparently ONE of you is
- mistaken; what I need now is a good way to know which of you it is.

- [I'm currently running a Maxtor P12S, which appears to format to just
- UNDER 1G (1.2G unformatted capacity), so I don't think I gain anything
- right now from the new PROMs. Should I worry about getting them
- anyway (AHA-1740 controller), and if I do, what will and will not
